“Bus Story” by Jorge Yúdice has won the 18th Festival Internazionale del Cortometraggio Scrittura e Immagine (Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy). “Ashen” (Cenizo) by Jon Mikel Caballero and “L de Libertad” by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens took part in the Official Competition.The Italy Festival Scrittura e Immagine is taking place in Pescara since a few days ago. The short films Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice, Ashen (Cenizo) by Jon Mikel Caballero, and L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens have been competing at this film event, which has eventually given an award the short Bus Story, directed by Jorge Yúdice.

Three short films promoted at film festivals by [ The House of Films ] have been competing at the 18th Festival Internazionale del Cortometraggio Scrittura e Immagine. These films have been Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice, Ashen (Cenizo) by Jon Mikel Caballero, and L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens. Eventually, the festival has already awarded the short film Bus Story, directed by Jorge Yúdice, tha has won the Best "Scrittura e Immagine" Short Film Award, the main competition of this film event.

The eighteenth edition of this Festival Scrittura e Immagine opened last Wednesday 30th november. The event will end just today, Friday 2nd December, despite the festival having already announced their winners yesterday, Thursay 1st December. One of these winners, indeed the most relevant of them, has been Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice, winner of the "Scrittura e Immagine" category.

The Short Film Competition of the Festival Scrittura e Immagine 2016 was divided into four categories: Scrittura e Immagine —European fiction and documentary short films—, Cortoscuola —students short films—, Spazio Abbruzzo —shorts filmed in Abruzzo or by Abruzzo people—, and Animacorto —an animation short film contest. As for Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice, Ashen by Jon Mikel Caballero, and L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens, these three short films were contesting in the "Scrittura e Immagine" category so they fought for the Best Short Film Award, consisting of € 1,500 cash-prize. This award, as we have aforementioned, has gone to Bus Story.

The list of winners of the current edition has consisted of:

  • Best "Scrittura e Immagine" Short Film Award: Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice.
  • Best "Cortoscuola" Short Film Award: Cyberbullismo: non alimentarlo by the Istituto Amedeo Duca D'Aosta of the Italian town of L'Aquila.
  • Best "Spazio Abruzzo" Short Film Award (local competition): Mio fratello by Simone Bozzelli.
  • The festival has not unveiled yet the winner of the Animacorto category.

This film festival is taking place in the city of Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy) and it is held by the Istituto Multimediale Internazionale Scrittura e Immagine with the support of the Mediamuseum and of the Associazione Culturale Ennio Flaiano.

Congratulations to Bus Story, the short directed by Jorge Yúdice, because of this new award. Congratulations to Ashen and L de Libertad too since they have entered into the Official Competition of an international film festival once again and have won a place between the best short films of the year.
