The short film L de Libertad, co-directed by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens, is one of the finalists of this year's Certamen de Cortos con motivo del día de las Personas con Discapacidad Probosco and it is going to be screened today in La Orotava (Canary Islands, Spain).
The list is very short. Just five short films are competing for the first prize of the VI Certamen de Cortos con motivo del día de las Personas con Discapacidad 2016 today, Friday 2nd December. The competition is organised by the Asociación Probosco of La Orotava (Canary Islands, Spain). The festival commemorates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, promoted by the United Nations, and held yearly on 3rd December.
The five finalists of this festival devoted to films on disabilities are: Bellanca by Víctor Nores, Mi nombre es Mara by Guacimara Yánes & Héctor Martín, L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens, El tiempo de los ángeles by Juan Ruiz Alonso, and Vida by Rubén Ríos. These candidates are competing for a cash-prize consisting of € 300.
The screening of the finalists has been scheduled this afternoon at the Kiosco El Encuentro, located in La Orotava, a town of Tenerife in the Canary Islands (Spain). The event is starting at 20:00 hours. The award of this film competition will be given after counting the votes of the audience.
Apart from the five "auteur" shorts, as the festival itself has named them, there are 14 "amateur" short films participating in the current sixth edition. The result of this amateur category, also decided by audience voting, has already announced by the organizers.
