This year's XS Puçol Festival has already finished and The Drunkard's Walk (El andar del borracho), the short filmed by Pol Armengol, has earned the highest recognition of this Valencian film festival.
The short film The Drunkard's Walk (El andar del borracho), directed by Pol Armengol, is one of the winners of the VI XS Puçol Festival de Curtmetratges 2017 (Puçol, Valencia, Spain). The Drunkard's Walk has won the Best Spanish Short Film Award (Premio al Mejor Corto de la Sección Nacional) of this Valencian film contest.
The Drunkard's Walk was nominated for taking part in the current sixth edition of the XS Puçol Festival, which was held between 27th and 29th October. In total, the organizers had selected 18 short films for fighting in the Sessió Oficial (Official Session), the short film competition of the film event.
The Drunkard's Walk by Pol Armengol was shown last Friday 27th October, during the opening day of the XS Puçol Festival.
The closing gala of the current edition took place yesterday, Sunday 29th October, in the afternoon. During this ceremony it was announced the list of winners of the current edition led by The Drunkard's Walk by Pol Armengol.
The awards of the 2017 edition have been as follows:
- Best Spanish Short Film Award: The Drunkard's Walk by Pol Armengol;
- Best "Mirades des d'ací" Short Film Award (Premio al Mejor Corto de la Sección Mirades des d'ací): Madrehijahermana by Alfonso Nogueroles;
- Jury's Special Consolation Award: Madre by Rodrigo Sorogoyen;
- Jury's Special Consolation Award: Norte by Javier García Garrido;
- XpreS First Prize (Primer Premio de la Sección XpreS): En un segundo by Cavallets Produccions;
- XpreS Second Prize (Segundo Premio de la Sección XpreS): Estiu by Sapic Productions;
- XpreS Third Prize (Tercer Premio de la Sección XpreS): Con los ojos cerrados by Fogy Films; and
- "L'altra mirada" Special Prize (Premio Especial L'altra mirada): Albena Teatre.
