The Brno16, which has recently taken place in Brno (South Moravia, Czech Republic), has already finished and the Jury of the 58th edition has announced award given to the short film Blind Letters (Cartas ciegas), directed by filmmaker Ángel Jaquem.
The fiction short film Blind Letters (Cartas ciegas) by Ángel Jaquem has just started its film festival promotion and it has already participated in one of the most relevant European short film festivals, the festival Brno16. In addition, the short Blind Letters has been awarded by the Jury of this Czech contest.
The 58th Brno16 (Brnĕnská Šestnáctka) began its screenings last Wednesday 11th October. Blind Letters by Ángel Jaquem was one of the 42 international short films nominated by the organizers of this film competition. The fifty-eighth edition of the festival Brno16 finished on Saturday 14th.
After the end of the screenings of this festival, the Jury unveiled that they had given an Honour Mention to the short Blind Letters, directed by Ángel Jaquem. The members of the Jury have highlighted the artistic quality of the short film Blind Letters.
The list of winners of the 2017 edition includes the following awards:
- International Award: Time to Go by Grzegorz Molda (Poland),
- Students Award: Ugly the Cat by Nikita Diakura (Germany),
- Petr Hvižď Award: Cahuenga by Jan-Karel Pavlík (Czech Republic),
- Honour Mention: Till the End of the Day by Anna Sarukhanova (Georgia),
- Honour Mention: Blind Letters by Ángel Jaquem (Spain),
- Honour Mention: he Log by Teemu Nikki (Finland),
- Honour Mention: Welcome by Balázs Dudás (Hungary), and
- Honour Mention: Elisa by Kristina Shtubert (Germany).
