Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens and their short film L de Libertad have been nominated for competing at the Abycine Festival and it is going to Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain) until 30th October.
The 18th Abycine Festival Internacional de Cine de Albacete will be launched today, Friday 21st October, in Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain) and it will finish coming 30th October. During those 10 days, the short film L de Libertad, co-directed by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens, is going to fight for the "Corto Discapacidad" Asprona Award of this festival.
The five shorts competing in the Shorts Asprona competition, also named Cortos y Discapacidad (Shorts and Disability), are: El solista de la orquesta by Arantxa Etxeberria, Escucha mi mirada by Carles Bover, Algo más que decir by Mónica Sánchez, L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens, and Ni dos, ni cuatro by Sergi González Fernández.
We must wait a few days before watching the short L de Libertad by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens. The short film is going to be shown in Albacete in one week, on Friday 28th October. The screening is scheduled at 18:00 hours and it will be done at the Sala Capitol of Albacete.
The Shorts and Disability section is an initiative of the Abycine Festival and the Fundación Asprona (a charity to support intellectual disabled persons). The Jury of this category will give two € 500 cash-prizes to the short films that "best convey the values and attention to disability". This is the case of L de Libertad, the documentary short by Javier Hernández & Marc Guanyabens. This short film tells the story of Javier Hernández, an Aragonese young man born without arms who wants to pass his driving test with his feet.

Calvillo, Decorosa by Enrique Buleo, Horror vacui by Daniel Chamorro, Segundito by Roberto Valle, Lotería by Tuti Fernández Gracián, Desde la azotea by Javier García Cano, Santa by Ismael Olivares García, and The Darkness Keeper by Rodrigo Atiénzar Jiménez, for their part, are the eight regional shorts nominated for the "Hecho en CLM" competition ("Done in CLM"; CLM stands for Castilla-La Mancha, where Albacete is settled).
All these activities, along with another ones of the Abycine 2016, will end on Sunday 30th October.
