The First Night At Lanzarote Film Festival

The comic short film The First Night (La primera noche), directed by Eduardo Moyano Fernández, is one of the shorts that have been selected for competing at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain).

Yesterday, 8th April, it started in Arrecife (Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain) the 13rd Festival Internacional de Cine de Lanzarote. Among the short films that have been selected for participating at the current edition is the short comedy The First Night (La primera noche) by Eduardo Moyano Fernández.

Specifically, The First Night by Eduardo Moyano Fernández is competing at the 2013 Best National (Spanish) Short, called the Mejor Corto Nacional 2013 in Spanish. As part of this category, The First Night is going to be screened tomorrow, 10th April.

The First Night is competing along with another 29 short films. Besides of the Spanish short competition, the Festival de Lanzarote has two other competitive categories: Best Documentary Short (Mejor Corto Documental) and Best International Short (Mejor Corto Internacional). Adding these three categories, the festival has selected 76 short films in total. Out of these 76, as you mentioned above, 30 are competing in the Best Spanish Short category, 26 in the Best International Short, and 20 in the Best Documentary Short category.

Organizers have received more than 950 short films this year, beating the 780 ones that were received in 2012. Not only the number of entries has grown. Moreover, these entries have come from 44 countries, including some countries such as China which have not sent any short previously.

The thirteenth edition of the Festival Internacional de Cine de Lanzarote is ending on coming 19th April. Nevertheless, organizers are going to announce the winning shorts on 15th April.
