A few months ago, the short film Z Fest, directed by David Cordero, won a place in the final of the Festival Sanse Cortos en Abierto (San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid, Spain). This final is going to be carried out just today, Friday 18th May, and the name of the winner of the current edition will be disclosed at the end.
The last session and the final competition of the 6th Festival Sanse Cortos en Abierto 2017-2018 is going to be held this afternoon in San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid, Spain). The short film Z Fest, directed by David Cordero, is one of finalists of the current edition and it is fighting for the Audience Award given to the Best Short Film at the end of today's final.
The final of the sixth Sanse Cortos en Abierto has nominated seven candidates for the competition. They are the Spanish short films:
- Madres de luna by Alicia Albares,
- Porque hay cosas que nunca se olvidan... by Lucas Figueroa,
- Madre by Rodrigo Sorogoyen,
- Defuncionario by Wiro Berriatúa,
- Ni una sola línea by Víctor E. D. Somoza,
- Z Fest by David Cordero, and
- Café nunca es café by Eduardo Ovejero.
These finalists were the most-voted shorts in each of the seven sessions previous to today's final. These sessions began last 29th September and they continue on 24th November 2017, 21st December 2017, 19th January 2018, 9th February 2018, 9th March 2018, and 13th April 2018.
Z Fest, the short by David Cordero, was the winner of the session held on 24th November, last year. Since then, and until today, it has been waiting for the final of the Sanse Cortos en Abierto 2017-2018.
The screenings of the final of the current edition are beginning at 19:00 hours (UTC+2 CEST) at the Centro de Formación of San Sebastián de los Reyes. Once all competing shorts were exhibited, the members of the audience may vote for their favourite films. The most voted short at the end of the final will become the winner of the Audience Award of the 6th Festival Sanse Cortos en Abierto 2017-2018.
