The Cinemafest of San Luis Potosí (Mexico) is opening today, Friday 14th November, with the participation of the independent feature film Flow by David Martínez and the short film Crack in the Darkness (Grieta en la oscuridad) by Xavi Rull.
The full-length film Flow, directed by David Martínez, and the short film Crack in the Darkness (Grieta en la oscuridad), directed by Xavi Rull, have won a place in the edition of the Cinemafest which is starting today, Friday 14th November. The Festival Internacional Cinemafest 2014 begins this evening (local time) in San Luis Potosí (Mexico), capital of the state of the same name.
However, we have to wait until Monday 17th November to see the inner action full-length film Flow, directed by David Martínez, in San Luis Potosí. That day, at 20:15 hours, at the Cineteca Alameda of San Luis Potosí, we can enjoy this touching story starring Juan del Santo.

In total, if we have correctly counted them, the Festival Cinemafest of San Luis Potosí is showing 12 contemporary feature films, besides of some classics. The 12 contemporary full-length films are: Selkirk, el verdadero Robinson Crusoe by Walter Tournier (Uruguay / Argentina / Chile), Children of the Wind by Daphne Schmon (USA), Deseo by Antonio Zaval Kugler (Mexico), El estudiante by Roberto Girault (Mexico), Dariela los Martes by Mauricio Valle (Mexico), El ingeniero by Diergo Arsuaga (Uruguay), 7 años de matrimonio by Joel Núñez (Mexico), Flow by David Martínez (Spain), Ella y el candidato by Robert Girault (Mexico), Realidades de humo by Joaquín Ortiz Loustaunau (Mexico), Noberto apenas tarde by Daniel Hendler (Uruguay / Argentina), and Los días no vividos by Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas (Spain).
Half feature films, six out of twelve, are Mexican productions. Uruguay has got 3 selections (including 2 co-productions), Spain got 2 (including Flow too), Argentina 2 co-productions, USA has won one nomination, and Chile one nomination (¡n co-production).
For its part, the short film Crack in the Darkness, directed by Xavi Rull, is going to be exhibited on Thursday 20th November at 18:30 hours at the Auditorio Rafael Nieto of San Luis Potosí. Crack in the Darkness is going to be screened again on Sunday 23rd November, last day of festival. That day, Crack in the Darkness will be part of a special session: the Horror Night (Noche de Terror), whose screenings will start at 18:00 hours and will take place at the Cineteca Alameda.

This year's selected short films amounts 24. The short films made in Spain prevail in this selection. 10 shorts have been produced in Spain, one of them in co-production. The remaining shorts have been produced in Mexico (4), France (2), Italy (2), USA (2, including one co-production), Argentina (1), Belgium (1), Luxembourg (1), United Kingdom (2 co-productions), India (one co-production), and Iraq (one co-production).

The Cinemafest 2014 of San Luis Potosí is also showcasing a selection of documentaries.
They will close this year's Festival Internacional Cinemafest on Sunday 23rd November.
