8 Competes At Festival Lume de Cinema

The short film directed by Raúl Cerezo and titled 8 has won a new selection. 8 is going to be competing at the Festival Internacional Lume de Cinema, held in Brazil, from June 14th.

The 2nd Festival Internacional Lume de Cinema (Brazil) is going to open on coming June 14th at the town of São Luís do Maranhão. Among the selected short films, this festival has chosen the short 8 by Raúl Cerezo, so it has won a new nomination.

The Festival Lume de Cinema has a Mostra Competitiva de Longas-Metragens Internacionais (International Full-Length Film Competition) with 10 feature films competing, a Mostra Competitiva de Curtas-Metragens Internacionais (International Short Film Competition) with 8 candidates to awards, a Mostra Competitiva de Longas-Metragens Brasileiros (Brazilian Full-Length Film Competition) with 8 Brazilian movies contending for winning, and a Mostra Competitiva de Curtas-Metragens Brasileiros (Brazilian Short Film Competition) with 31 participants. It also has a out-of-competition exhibition devoted to Brazil.

As for 8, the short by Raúl Cerezo, it has entered in the Mostra Competitiva de Curtas-Metragens. In this competition, there are eight nominees from fiction to experimental or animation films. The selected shorts are: All That She Surveys by Gary Mairs (USA), Etienes's Hand by Richard Tuohy (Australia), Historia muerta by Fran Mateu (Spain), Muy cerca by Iván Caso (Spain), Normal People by Piotr Zlotorowicz (Poland), La gran carrera by Kote Camacho (Spain), 8 by Raúl Cerezo (Spain), and Zeinek Gehiago Iraun by Gregorio Muro (Spain).

As usual at international film festivals, the number of shorts produced in Spain is large: 5 of the 8 shorts in competition are Spanish productions.

8 by Raúl Cerezo is going to be shown on June 19th at 15:30 along with the Spanish full-length film Quiero ser soldado by Christian Molina at the Cine Praia Grande.

The 2nd Festival Lume de Cinema will be close on June 20th.
