- 20·08·2014
The full-length film Flow, directed by David Martínez and starring Juan del Santo, has been nominated for competing in the Official Competition of the tenth edition of the Festival Internacional de Cine de Pasto (Colombia), which is opening its screenings today, 20th August.
The 10th FICPA Festival Internacional de Cine de Pasto (San Juan de Pasto, Colombia) has granted lots of joy and satisfaction to the crew of the independent feature film Flow. Flow, the film directed by David Martínez, has not only been selected for contending during the current edition. It should be noted that the 10th Festival Internacional de Cine de Pasto has just nominated 4 full-length films, one of them Flow, from the 440 films submitted this year.
Specifically, Flow by David Martínez is going to fight in the category called "Película de Ficción Internacional (Bajo Presupuesto)" (roughly, Low-Budget International Fiction Full-Length Films). This competition, as we have just mentioned, consists of only four international feature films. These four finalists are: Alter by Ulises Gutiérrez (Spain), Flow by David Martínez (Spain), Involucrado by Josué Ramos (Spain), and Los días iguales by Aldo Marchiaro (Argentina). As you can see, this category is dominated by three Spanish films and also has an Argentinian feature film.
Flow, a inner action film directed by David Martínez, is going to be shown coming Saturday 23rd August at 15:30 hours at the Teatro Colombia of San Juan de Pasto.
The tenth edition of the FICPA is beginning today, Wednesday 20th August, in the Andean town of San Juan de Pasto, located in the Colombian department of Nariño. This film festival will continue until coming Tuesday 26th August.
Apart from the four feature films selected in the "Película de Ficción Internacional" category, this year's Festival de Cine de Pasto has selected 5 Andean full-length films, 5 international full-length documentary films, 19 international fiction short films, 4 international documentary short films, 7 experimental films, and 16 short films from the department of Nariño for competing in the various sections of the Official Competition —which is called "Selección Oficial en Competencia por el Sol de Los Pastos" by this festival.
The festival is also presenting the "Selección Alternativa Churo Cósmico", an alternative section parallel to the Official Competition, which is going to showcase 29 films of different kinds.
The FICPA 2014 is closing on Tuesday 26th August. That day they are going to give the awards of the current edition during a gala starting at 20:00 hours at the Teatro Colombia, main venue of this film competition.
Meanwhile, besides of competing at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Pasto, Flow is also currently participating at the 23rd Chichester International Film Festival. Flow is going to be shown there tomorrow, 21st August, and on the next day, Friday 22nd August.
