Adiós, Muñeca and I Want to Be a Gazelle Go To Festival Vinos de Castilla-La Mancha

The Festival de Cine Europeo Vinos de Castilla La Mancha (Spain) has nominated the fiction short film Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz, produced by 29Letras, and the documentary I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) by Ana Rodríguez Rosell, produced by Jana Films, for its Official Competition.

Culminating a highly successful week, the short film Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), directed by Hugo Sanz, and the documentary I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) by Ana Rodríguez Rosell have been selected for the Festival de Cine Europeo Vinos de Castilla La Mancha (unfortunetely, this website is only available for Microsoft's Internet Explorer).

The Festival de Cine Europeo Vinos de Castilla La Mancha (in English, Castilla-La Mancha Wines European Film Festival) will take place in La Solana (a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real, Spain) on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2010.

Besides Adiós, muñeca by Hugo Sanz and I Want to Be a Gazelle by Ana Rodríguez Rosell, this Festival has chosen 5 documentaries and 16 shorts. In the documentary category, there will compete Tabernícolas by Pablo Villalva Valero, No crecen by José Luis Roig and Ezequiel Degastaldi, Los hijos de los pastores by Luis Alfaro Palacios, El tránsito by León Siminiani, and I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) by Ana Rodríguez Rosell.

On the other hand, several works will contend for the short film category awards: Carta de Francia by Diego López Cotillo, Cine social by Daviz Galán Galindo, Dreaming A Whole Life by Javier Ara Santos, El opositor by María Giráldez and Miguel Provencio, El sobrino by Nacho Blasco Corvinos, Esto no es amor by Javier San Román, Genio y figura by Harem Khraiche, Killer by Nacho Carballo, La historia de siempre by José Luis Montesinos, Los años del silencio by Marcel Leal, Lost (Perdidos) by Alberto Dorado, Margarita by Álex Cervantes, Mi amigo invisible by Pablo Larguen, Xnada by Toni Veiga and Dani de la Torre, Yanidara by Lluis Quilez Sala, and Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz.

The documentary I Want to Be a Gazelle enters at the Mariama Bâ School settled in Senegal. At this place, the most brilliant girl pupils from all Senegal are teaching to become the leaders of their country in the near future. I Want to Be a Gazelle was produced by Jana Films and is directed by Ana Rodríguez Rosell. Recently, this documentary film has got several consecutive nominations in various festivals: the XXXIII Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche (Spain), the I've Seen Films International Festival (Italy), and the Islantilla Cinefórum (Spain).

Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), the fiction short film that 29Letras has produced and Hugo Sanz has directed, has also got an excellent run recently. It has been selected for several festivals within last weeks: the Festival de Cine Independiente de Elche (Spain), the Islantilla Cinefórum (Spain), the Festival Digital El Sector (Spain), the Zanzibar International Film Festival (Tanzania), the Eugena Film Festival (Italy), and the Ischia Film Festival (Italy). Furthermore, Sara Casasnovas has been recently awarded because of her superb acting as the leading role in Adiós, muñeca. Particularly, she has won the Corto Festival DUNAS de Cine y Vídeo of Fuerteventura (Spain) and the Kimera International Film Festival de Campobasso (Italy).
