Photo Competes At The Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series

“Photo” (Foto) by Ismael Ferrer is going to compete at The 7th Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series (California, USA)The short film Photo (Foto) by Ismael Ferrer has entered in the Official Competition of The Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series, a film festival held in California, USA.

The 7th Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series (California, USA), also known as BSISFSS, is opening tomorrow, June 7th, in the Californian region of Big Sur. Among the short films that are going to competing at this year's edition, the selection committee has chosen the short Photo (Foto) by Ismael Ferrer.

The BSISFSS is going to screen shorts on Thursdays for 11 weeks. The Gala Finale is scheduled on August 26th. Both this gala and the Thursdays screenings are going to take place at the Henry Miller Memorial Library, which organizes this festival.

“Photo” (Foto) by Ismael Ferrer is going to compete at The 7th Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series (California, USA)The exhibition of Photo, the short film by Ismael Ferrer, is scheduled on Thursday July 26th at 20:15 at Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur. Along with Photo, they are going to show another five short films: Henley by Craig Macneill (USA), Blue Line by Lynn Maalouf (France), Joy by Colm Quinn (Ireland), Ever hear a Postman Whistle? by Bexie Bush (UK), and The Piano Tuner de Olivier Treiner (France).

For the 11 weeks of festival, the BSISFSS has planned to screen 54 short films, selected among the more than 1,000 that they have received. The shorts come from countries all over the world, specially from Europe (Italy, France, Norway, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Kosovo, Poland), from the United States, from Australia, and from Canada. There are also films from countries such as Iran, Thailand, China, Israel, and Iraq. The country that exhibits more shorts is USA with 13 finalists, followed by: France with 6, Sweden with 5 (adding 2 co-productions), Australia and Ireland with 4, and Spain, UK and Italy with 3 each one. Nevertheless, most shorts come from Europe: 34.

New this year has been that the BSISFSS is going to screen films on Wednesdays at the Forest Theater in Carmel and at the Museum of Monterey, both places in California.
