The Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España (Spanish Film Academy) is going to screen the latest short film directed by Mauricio Franco, The Second Awakening of Blindness (El segundo amanecer de la ceguera) on coming January 12th at 20:00. The screening, which is only for members of Spanish Film Academy, will be before the exhibition of one of the 2011 Goya Awards finalist feature films (Goya Awards are official Spanish Film Academy Awards, like US Film Academy Oscar Awards). The Second Awakening of Blindness by Mauricio Franco won this honour because of being one of the winner of the Alcine 40 (Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, Spain). The short by Mauricio Franco win the Second Prize at this festival.

The Second Awakening of Blindness also won the Busan International Short Film Festival and competed at the 2010 Berninale.

The Second Awakening of Blindness by Mauricio Franco is the second short film promoted at festivals by [ The House of Films ] which is screened at the Spanish Film Academy. The first one was Goodbye, Doll (Adiós, muñecaI) by Hugo Sanz.
