Bonsai And The End of the World At Islantilla

Bonsai, the short film by Óscar Martín, and The End of the World, the short film directed by Chris Downs, have been selected at the Festival Internacional de Cine Bajo la Luna - Islantilla Cinefórum 2012 (International Film Festival Under the Moon - Islantilla Cinefórum 2012, Spain).

The 5th Festival Internacional de Cine Bajo la Luna- Islantilla Cinefórum 2012, has chosen two short films promoted at film festivals by [ The House of Films ]: Bonsai by Óscar Martín and The End of the World by Chris Downs. This festival is held in the place of Islantilla, in Andalucía, south Spain.

Bonsai and The End of the World are two of one hundred short films that have been selected at this festival and are going to be shown on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during June and August 2012. In total, the organizers of this Andalusian competition has received more than 300 shorts coming from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, United States of America, France, Guatemala, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Bonsai by Óscar Martín	The End of the World by Chris Downs

On Thursday July 12th they are going to screen Bonsai, the short film directed by Óscar Martín and produced by El Ojo Mecánico. The End of the World by Chris Downs will be screened on Thursday August 16th. All screenings of selected short films, including Bonsai and The End of the World, will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Patio Central de la Oficina de Turismo de Islantilla at 22:30.

Additionally, the Islantilla Cinefórum 2012 has nominated 10 full-length films for its Official Competition.

At the end of the screenings calendar, the Islantilla Cinefórum will unveil its awards: Best Full-Length Film, Best Short Film, Best Film Direction, Best Male Acting, Best Female Acting, Best Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Full-Length Film Audience Award, Best Short Film Audience Award, and RTVA Award (granted by Radio y Televisión de Andalucía, Andalusian regional TV). The jury for this edition has the following members: actor José Manuel Cervino, actresses Maite Blasco and María León, filmmaker Roberto Pérez Toledo, and docu-maker Torcuato Rueda Porcel.

Hoy, 30 de junio, a partir de las 22:00 horas, se celebrará la gala inaugural del Islantilla Cinefórum 2012, presentada por la actriz Laura Toledo. El evento tendrá lugar en el Patio Central de la Oficina de Turismo de Islantilla.

El martes 28 y el jueves 30 de agosto se proyectarán los cortos finalistas de esta edición del Islantilla Cinefórum.
